I had a nice adventure in Vasquez Rocks today, and I had a lot of fun exploring before narrowly escaping an unexpected thunderstorm. Vasquez Rocks is home to iconic rock formations that have been featured in productions ranging from Star Trek in the 1960s to Westworld in 2016. It was a pleasure roaming this magical place.
I stopped by one of my favorite spots on the California coast today, and enjoyed a nice hike in the rain. The sun broke through the clouds as I walked along the beach, and I caught a lovely rainbow as I looked up the coast towards Morro Bay.
Here is a preview of the cover of my forthcoming book, California Republic. This book will explore my adventures in the Golden State, replete with photos from my wanderings as well as the memoirs of a California mountain man. Look for it in bookstores in the next few years.
I travelled to Costa Rica this week for a friend's wedding. Costa Rica is beautiful... hot, dusty, and beautiful. Some friends and I walked down the beach in Playa Santa Teresa to catch the sunset tonight. There are many tidepools that function as natural hottubs after the sun heats the water all day. We relaxed in a natural hottub on the beach and caught a rich, purple sunset. It was a lovely Wednesday.
There was a spectacular sunset at Lake Tahoe today. My friends were I in town for a ski weekend and bachelor party celebration. We stayed in a large cabin near the lake, and were treated to epic, frosty sunsets like this one. I ventured out onto the lake, on rather thin ice, and was able to capture the moment without getting my feet wet.
I will be exhibiting my Giant Trilogy this Friday, February 22, at An Unexpected Art Show, an exhibit inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. My Giant Trilogy is comprised of three works: the Frost Giant, the Fire Giant, and the Green Giant. Like Tolkien, my work is inspired by Norse mythology and the denizens of that mythical world.
